About me

My name is Martan van der Straaten, and I am a third year student of Computing Science at the Radboud University Nijmegen. I hope to finish my study this year, and to then start a double master in Mathematics and Computing Science. This would allow me to spend some extra time stuyding in Nijmegen.

During my time studying in Nijmegen I have completed more than the required 180 courses, also taking on extra courses in Mathematics, a course in Psychology and an English literature course. This in combination with my minor in Philosophy allowed me to broaden my horizon. While I used my free electives to take an extra specialisation in Computing Science: Software Engineering.

Next to this I have also tried to integrate into the student culture a little. I move to Nijmegen during my second year, and spent quite some time on participating actively in our study-association. I have been a member of the partner-committee for more than half of my time in this study. As the partner-committee we help our commissioner of external affairs to maintain contact with companies, organise company-related events, and more.

Lastly I have spent much of my time working during these 3 years. Holding up to two jobs at the same time during most of my study. I was a student assistant for roughly 8 courses and worked at an ICT company close to my birthplace.
